
Court Martial of Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Akbar Hussain for Inciting Soldiers to Mutiny, 14 Years Imprisonment
Rawalpindi: Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Akbar Hussain of the #Pakistan Army has been court-martialed and sentenced for inciting soldiers to mutiny.
According to ISPR, retired officer Lieutenant Colonel Akbar Hussain of the Pakistan #ARMY has been sentenced through a general court martial under the Pakistan Army Act 1952 for inciting military personnel to mutiny.
The authorized court found him ‘guilty’ of these charges through the legal judicial process and sentenced him to 14 years of rigorous imprisonment on May 10, 2024, with his rank being stripped on July 26, 2024.
Previously, for actions against state security and interests, former Major (Retired) #AdilFarooqRaja and former Captain (Retired) Haider Raza Mehdi were also sentenced through military general court martial under the Pakistan Army Act 1952 for inciting mutiny and violating the Official Secrets Act 1923.
The authorized court found both Adil Farooq Raja and Haider Raza Mehdi guilty through the legal judicial process on October 7 and 9, 2023, respectively, and sentenced them to 14 and 12 years of rigorous imprisonment. Both individuals’ ranks were also stripped from November 21, 2023.
