CPEC (Circular Road Bannu) Incident and Bannu Peace Movement.
Every evening at Circular Road Bannu, thousands of rowdy youth from Bannu, Lakki Marwat, and Karak gather to openly display debauchery and indecency. Upon leaving, they engage in excessive celebratory gunfire, which is an everyday occurrence. On Fridays, the crowd grows even larger. Guns, pistols, and young boys wearing makeup are brought and showcased collectively. This is a common practice among most of the Bannu people as a group.
Yesterday, even some terrorists of Sadar Hayat group HGB appeared to enjoy this atmosphere. The general public took selfies with them. Meanwhile, the SHO of the Meriyan Police station khalid khan, along with his gunman, were in their Car when they were fired upon by the terrorists. There were reports of return fire as well. As a result, one civil spectator was killed, and two police officials and two terrorists got injured.
These conditions have been anticipated for some time, and more is yet to come. The day when the historic Bannu Peace Movement was used for personal promotion, party propaganda, job reinstatement, and increasing job quotas for a specific tehsil, the Facebook intellectuals and organizers of the movement lost their ability to listen and understand. The 70 elders’ council, or what seemed more like a gathering of mice, was manufactured, and the blood of four martyrs, two permanently disabled individuals, and 26 injured was turned into a campaign rally for Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur. Fake arrests were staged, and a celebration was held by breaking bangles.
During a week-long sit-in, instead of raising public awareness, the public was tormented and harassed by the meaningless speeches of Gul Pir and Shaqiazi , Maaqiazi . Even two of the most sincere peace advocates were unreachable because they were surrounded by those 70 elders who hadn’t contributed a single drop of sweat or a second of their life to the cause of peace. Yesterday’s bloody evening and the unabashed wandering of armed groups are in front of you.
The purpose of the Bannu Peace Movement was, after all, to reinstate a dismissed police official Jamshaid Bannuzai, Jamshaid’s investigative case on selling a govt land in Bannu to a person with 40 million rupees “Case was registered with Cdr Ishaq jani khel (Aman committee Commander)” , pledge loyalty to the Chief Minister, promote the party, secure job quotas, and release funds for the opposition MPA. Since this agenda has been fulfilled, prepare for more corpses, explosions, and targeted killings, so that another peace movement can take place, with political and religious figures arriving like frogs in the rain, and Gul Pir and company given hours to spew nonsense.
